// Record Cover Design CONCEPT //
Student project to make an album cover for a random artists album. I got the album "Adventure" by Shonen Knife, a pop-punk album, and decided to lay out some visuals and themes that came to mind when listening to the music. I explored a range of different types of visual experiments from mark making whilst listening to the music to drawing out shapes and patterns that the tones in the music reminded me of. Overall the music is like a fusion of classic rock with a bright futuristic Japanese twist and that's what made it stand out for me.
I decided to play with the idea of contrast combined with bright colours and futuristic patterns and this led me to geometric 3D feeling designs like these that really made you feel pulled in to the cover. I then experimented with Risograph printing and the bright, fluorescent colours I could create using this printing method. This led to the creation of these final album cover designs and also a motion piece featured in another Behance post.
